Microsoft today a new Windows 10 preview for PCs. This is the third build ahead of the company’s, which is coming in “early 2017”; it brings EPUB support in Microsoft Edge, Paint 3D, PowerShell in Command Prompt’s default spot, improved Japanese and Chinese Input Method Editors (IMEs), and a better Get Office app. Windows 10 is, meaning it was than its predecessors so it can be regularly updated with not just fixes but too. While Microsoft has released many such updates to date, the Creators Update will be a major one and follows the, released in August 2016. First up, Edge now supports the EPUB file format, so you can read any unprotected e-book in the file format just like you can with PDFs. While reading EPUB files, Edge lets you change the text size and font, and choose between three themes (light, sepia, and dark). Pen and ink ocala. You can also leave bookmarks, use the table of contents or seek bar at the bottom of the browser, search for words or phrases, and use Cortana to define specific words.
Insiders have been able to download a preview of, which will eventually ship with the Creators Update, for a while now. Starting with this build, the Paint 3D app is now included as part of Windows 10. Opening Paint from Start will now take you to Paint 3D, which is currently only available in English (support for other languages is “coming soon”). Also in this build, PowerShell is now the de facto command shell from File Explorer, replacing the Command Prompt in the WIN + X menu, in File Explorer’s File menu, and in the context menu that appears when you shift-right-click the whitespace in File Explorer.
#1 Dullahir, 02:28 PMHey everyone: Is there a way to view.epub thumbnails as book covers in windows explorer? It would be such a timesaver, because I can simply edit and stuff from there without having to load up Calibre and load the 18,259 epub documents that I currently have in this folder. (I have more in others.) It would also help me look for dupes as well as avoid that HORRIBLE 'ABC Amber Lit Converter' pos. Like if I have two books, one with that shizz and another pristine, I'd prefer to get rid of the corrupt one, not the perfect one.
I know that with pdf books you can use the Preview Pane. But are there any programs or tweaks that will allow you to view the.epub covers as thumbnails in a Windows Explorer window running on Windows 7 64? #5 Dullahir, 11:50 PMAh, thanks for the info. And yes, I did see the page you spoke of, but it didn't say anything about.epub, so I wasn't sure, hehe. And thanks, Wolfie, I thought as much, but I guess it didn't hurt to ask. So there's no software of anything that might help, right? I know that Adobe has some, but I guess that's just the way things are.
